Apr. 23, 2009 (Baseball Musings delivered by Newstex ) -- Joey Votto collected four hits for the Reds today as they defeated the Cubs 7-1. He missed the cycle by a base, collecting two doubles instead. Looking at his career so far, hes amassed 46 doubles and 32 home runs in 669 at at bats. Given that hes just entering his prime, I wonder if hes going to turn into a Don Mattingly type hitter (before the back injury limited Dons power). I could see Votto turning into a 50 doubles, 30 home run hitter, and playing in GAB, he might even challenge 50-50 someday. Your thoughts?
