--C Ramon Hernandez made his fifth start at first base Wednesday, replacing Joey Votto, who left Tuesday's game with dizziness. The Reds are 4-1 with Hernandez at first base.
--C Ryan Hanigan started his 11th game Wednesday, and the Reds are 8-3 with him behind the plate. His first four starts came when RHP Bronson Arroyo started. --RHP Francisco Cordero leads the NL with 10 saves in 10 opportunities. For the second straight year, the Reds are the last team in the majors to go without a blown save.
MEDICAL WATCH:
1B Joey Votto (flu) did not start May 7-10, but he was back in the lineup May 11. He left the May 12 game due to dizziness and did not play May 13. He is expected to return May 15.
SS Alex Gonzalez (strained left oblique) left the May 4 game and did not play May 5-13. He is day-to-day.
3B Edwin Encarnacion (chip fracture in left wrist) went on the 15-day disabled list April 28. He might miss two to three weeks.
