--RHP Micah Owings tripled in the fourth inning Thursday against the Brewers, the first triple by a Reds pitcher since Eric Milton against the Cubs on April 13, 2006. Owings also has two doubles this year as a pinch hitter.
--RHP Johnny Cueto (2-1, 1.65) pitched eight shutout innings in Pittsburgh during his last start. He faces the division-leading Cardinals on Friday in Great American Ball Park. He is 0-2 with a 16.20 ERA against St. Louis in two career starts. --RHP David Weathers made his 906th career appearance Wednesday, tying him for 19th on the all-time list with Cy Young. Weathers has not given up a run this season over 10 games (nine innings), allowing four hits.
