--RF Ken Griffey Jr. was given Tuesday off despite an 11-game hitting streak since the All-Star break and a .294 career averages against Astros RHP Brian Moehler.

--LF Adam Dunn, with 511 walks from 2004 through this season, leads the majors with 10 more than Todd Helton's total. He also leads the majors in home runs over that span with 196. Alex Rodriguez is second with 195.

--RHP Edinson Volquez (12-4, 2.77), who hasn't won in his last two starts, faces the Astros on Wednesday in Minute Maid Park. The Reds are 14-7 for his 21 starts.

--RHP Mike Lincoln has pitched 18 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings, the longest streak for a Reds relief pitcher since Jeff Shaw pitched 23 1/3 shutout frames in 1998.

--2B Brandon Phillips is hitting .197 (13-for-66) over his last 17 games, dropping his average from .292 to .272.
