--2B Wilkin Castillo is a second baseman by trade and a guy who has caught in the past, but the Reds started him in left field five times late last year and won all five games.
--OF Jay Bruce replaced Ken Griffey Jr. in right field last year after Griffey was sent to the White Sox at the trade deadline. The Reds went 26-38 in games started in right by Bruce after going 43-46 with Griffey in right, but Bruce is the Reds' starting right fielder for 2009.
--RHP Bronson Arroyo was the only Reds pitcher to make every assigned start in 2008, including two on three days of rest. For the third consecutive year, he led the team in starts (34), and he has pitched in 200 or more innings four straight years.
