Right-hander Jim Brower was traded Friday from the Cincinnati Reds to the Chicago Cubs for cash.

--RHP Josh Fogg, who had been in the bullpen, moves back into the rotation, and he will start Saturday against the Braves in place of demoted RHP Matt Belisle.

In an expected series of events, earlier this afternoon, Goose Gossage was finally elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, becoming the lone member of the Cooperstown Class of 2009 inducted by the voters. 

For the first time in its six years, Great American Ball Park feels like home. 

David Ross' first homer put the finishing touch on a six-run first inning off left-hander Tom Gorzelanny, and the Cincinnati Reds extended their home winning streak to nine games Wednesday night with a 9-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
